My stance on Lonzo is very clear, I think he’s vastly overrated. A good passer yes but he was a mid lottery pick in my eyes NOT #2 overall. In his NBA debut we did see some nice passes and a lot of rebounding for a PG, granted he’s 6’6″. Lakers fell to the Clippers 108-92 in a game that wasn’t in question after the first quarter. Ball in 29 minutes went 1-6 from the field 0-2 from FT and ended with 4 assists. His +/- was an abysmal -14. As expected, the Clippers went after Lonzo early. The Lakers are still bad folks, sorry LAL fans. Moving on to the good LA team, the Clippers put on a show and I think Blake as the leader of this team might actually work out. Blake had 29 pts on 52% shooting and 12 rebounds. DeAndre followed that up with a double double of his own with 14 pts and 24 rebounds. Yes, 24 rebounds. Clippers might surprise a few people this year, including myself, and be a top 5 team in the west again.
We had another blow out last night with the Knicks traveling to OKC to take on the Thunder and former teammate Carmelo Anthony. The Thunders big 3 combined for 71 of the teams 105 pts led by Paul George with 28. Westbrook didn’t let winning MVP get to his head as he put up a triple double. Seems like the thought he can’t do it with good teammates was anything but the truth. The Thunder might be a top 3 team in the west this year and an actual threat to the Warriors. The only bright spot for the Knicks who lost by 21 was Porzingas. In 38 minutes Kristaps put up 31 pts on 44% from the field and 12 rebounds. KP is a freak and I hope he can play for an actual team soon.
